Subtle and cheeky. See that little red warning triangle on the back bumper of this Jaguar MkII?
Every MkII had it. It was supposed to “warn” the driver of the car behind that the Jag was equipped with disc brakes, and was therefor capable of stopping much quicker than whatever plebeian oxcart they were driving. It was literally a from-the-factoryversion of those anti-tailgating bumper stickers you see on old trucks. I say cheeky and put “warn” in quotes because the badge was obviously far too small to actually serve its purpose.

Reminds me of some chinese cars that have “ABS” written in the back for some reason.
Yes, those were really easy to roll:

It’s not just chinese cars. If your ‘91-’94 Chevy was so equipped, chances are it had a red ABS badge on the back. This was the era of putting the number of cams and valves, as well as traction control, intercoolers, fuel injection, and other such mechanical doohickeys on a car’s badge.

I was always confused about this.
This brake pedal pad is all like “Let me tell you about your disc brakes with a big lumpy slippery metal badge.
